a major snow event for the northeast i-95 cities. so we should be doing okay there. but still, nonetheless, snowy travel for many across the appalachians and northern new england. going back to wednesday, d.c., certainly impacted. pittsburgh, on back into cleveland, all these airports where we expect the snow, there will be severe weather in raleigh down to the south of this. but it's all go up to the north because the storm hasn't gotten into the thick of it yet. thursday, up into new england goes the meat of the storm. but backlash snow and wind. and on friday, we got the all go as we are now in a break between storms. but a break is the keyword there. but here comes the trough of low pressure sliding off to the great lakes and the rocky mountains. and that means a new storm will develop and impact these areas into saturday. a lot of people potentially heading back this weekend. more rain and snow. right now, it's too early to call from new york up to boston. rain or snow. but right now, d.c. looks like they're right on that rain/snow line. this one could be much more impactful for the n

there's the snowy side on the back side of this. oklahoma city, you can see maybe two to four inches. we thought originally yesterday there would be a little more, but it began as ice. that's the biggest problem through oklahoma city, the nice that's kind of laying the groundwork. but look what happens from today, tonight, and then into tomorrow. this is not just a one-day affair. we're going to see this play out through tomorrow and tomorrow night. look at this, blizzard warnings, paducah, 8 to 12 inches of snow. and then cincinnati to cleveland, five to nine inches. and then in western new york, how about rochester and syracuse. a foot of snow-plus developing. tornadoes are very rare in florida and georgia. only in 2006 was the last time we had six tornadoes. so it's incredibly rare. snow in oklahoma city, only 6 of the last 122 years have had snow there. it's certainly substantial. we'll have more weather coverage throughout the day but first "gps tough decisions" starts right now. >>> the great french writer albert cameau said life is a sum of all your choices. we're all d

of the city. kron4's jr stone continues our coverage from petaluma. >> reporter: weather continues here in the north bay, anything but pleasant. wet, windy and very cold outside. according to my measure device that measures wind speed, 70 miles an hour. it's 45 degrees outside and the rain is coming down. directly behind me there is a light flashing on that sign. it says flooded. this section of petaluma just off of highway 101 has been flooded for much of the afternoon. there was an accident at one point this afternoon. no major injuries. the cars here were dealing with all sorts of problems. as i drove up to the pet mew law area, there were all sorts of problems along 101. at one point i saw a car hydroplane across four lanes of traffic. fortunately, he was able to drive off. but i was listening to scanners. as you see this water go flying up in the air and chp was responding to hydroplaning all across the north bay. in the last 30 minutes or so, the rain has slowed down. we're we're not seeing the heavy downpour that we saw earlier in the afternoon. it's still in the 40s. it's still
